LEE UNIVERSITY SOFTBALL RECRUITS
COACH NEMO'S TRAINING PROGRAM!
Just three years after becoming the Lee University's all time strike out and innings pitched leader, Emily Moore was selected to put her name in another portion of the Lady Flames' record book: head softball coach.
She did just that, in her first year directing the Lady Flames to an outstanding 37-17 record and a second place finish in the TranSouth conference and Region XI.
While pitching at Lee, Moore pitched an amazing record of 305 innings during the 2000 season. She struck out a record 194 hitters in those 305 innings. This outstanding performance gave Emily the nickname "The Iron Lady." Coach Moore is now taking this same drive and determination that has brought her success as a pitcher to her team's development into awesome hitters.
Coach Nemo spent a week in the Fall at Lee University and states, "Emily Moore is a vibrant, exciting young coach who is determined to build Lee University's softball program into one of the best in the country. Her enthusiasm is contagious and the way she handles each one of her players is absolutely heartwarming. This is one lady who is destined for success as a college coach."
The "Iron Lady" is following Nemo's Speed Hitting Program which has received the #1 new product of the year award and is based upon a research study that proved you can increase bat speed and hit for greater distances by underloading rather than overloading. This allows the hitters to get in hundreds of repetitions that are necessary to increase muscle memory (without the fear of injury) and bring about the physiological changes to the muscle fiber to increase fast twitch muscle reaction time.

"During my first year as coach we were looking for a product to help train our hitters and we were directed to Nemo's Speed Training Program. We ordered several bats and Coach Nemo's two instructional videos: Increase Your Bat Speed and Speed Circuit Training. We then introduced the training program to the team in the form of drills. I noticed a big difference in our team's hitting power and we increased the number of extra base hits, especially home runs. We hit so well that the teams we played against wanted to know what bats we were using in the game. The Lady Flames' hitting was powerful and our players increased their bat speed, as well as their ability to hit the ball with accuracy.
"This year I am taking my team through the whole training program in the fall before the season begins and during winter break our players will take their bats home to practice their swings and maintain their increased bat speed. After the holidays, we will use the bats to get ready for the season. I am excited to see the difference after using the total program and getting in our goal of 30,000 swings.
"The Speed Training Bat in conjunction with Nemo's two instructional videos is an exciting tool that has really worked for our team. It has allowed us to get in the necessary number of repetitions to increase bat speed and hit for longer distances without wearing the players out at practice. Our players like to use the golf whiffle balls to hit front soft toss and this helps them in finding the middle of the ball and the sweet spot on the bat.
"Before the team used the Speed Training Bats, we did not get in the quantity of swings in a practice session. We now are able to work on the mechanics of hitting and at the same time increase our bat speed with each drill we use in practice. When we hit balls with the Speed Training Bat, we enjoy using smaller balls as it improves our hand-eye coordination. Now we are able to focus on the mechanics and break the swing process into its basic elements.
"Nemo's Speed Training Program has been a crucial component in our offensive success this past season for example: Jessica Green was selected TranSouth Player of the Year with a batting average of .326 and a slugging percentage of .444. Katie Rominger was selected TranSouth Conference Player of the year and the Mid South Region Player of the Year. She had a batting average of .389 and a slugging percentage of .589."
There are many more college success stories; among the colleges that have purchased Nemo's program are Athens State College, Alabama; Loyola MaryMount University, California; Colorado State University, Colorado; Dean College, Assumption College, Massachusetts; Wesleyan College, Tennessee; Lenoir Rhyme College, North Carolina; and Mount Saint Mary's College, Maryland; Kent State University, Ohio; Oregon State University, Linfield College, Oregon; Edinboro University, Muhlenberg College, Pennsylvania; Lee University, Tennessee. There are numerous high schools and ASA softball teams throughout the country too numerous to mention in this article.
Coach Nemo's Speed Bat Training Program is quickly becoming a nationally accepted training tool. It is growing in popularity with proven, positive results from team and individual usage at all age levels.
