NEMO'S TRIPLE-HITTING TEE

The Lighter-than-Air Swing

Hear the swoosh of the bat off the innovative brush tee!

It is the ultimate weapon for the advanced players to have high speed repetitions with no movement of the three bush hitting platform. This will enable the athletes to work on swinging the bat faster between each swing leading to the development of quick twitch muscle fiber. The results will be increased bat speed, quicker reaction time and longer distances.

The proper mechanics will be taught in how to hit correctly the inside, middle and outside pitches. In addition the batters will get instant feedback to the proper swing angle in regards to bat barrel drag and too steep a bat angle.

The hitting platform with the 3 lighter than air brushes as shown below is made of beautiful grained "Brazilian Cherry Wood" considered to be one of the hardest woods in the world. You will break your bat before you split this wood.

A. The Diagonals of Hitting

Lindsay is demonstrating hitting

1. THE INSIDE PITCH

Place a ball on the front brush tee and start hitting the inside pitch with proper hitting mechanics going into one's power position, bat lag to contact, hitting the ball at the inside position 12 to 15 inches out in front of the plate. Make sure your hips get to the three click position.

2. THE MIDDLE PITCH

Place a ball on the middle brush tee and start to hit the middle pitch with proper hitting mechanics going into one's power position, bat lag and contact, hitting the ball at the middle position 4 to 6 inches out in front of the plate. Make sure you get your hips gets to the
two click position. .

3. THE OUTSIDE PITCH

Place a ball on the back brush tee and start to hit the outside pitch with proper hitting mechanics. Pretend you have a camera on your back side hip and make one click turn of the hip in the direction of the outside pitch and take a picture of the location of the ball with your hip camera. You want to contact the ball about 17 inches deep into the outside corner of the plate. Make sure your hips go to the one click position. .

4. DOUBLE BALL

Place the first ball on the front brush tee closest to the pitcher and a second ball on the middle brush tee.
Hit the ball at the middle pitch position (with your hands in the traditional palm up palm down grip) and continuing to drive your hands and bat until you hit the ball at the extension position; than turn your wrists over leading into the follow thru.

NOTE:

Nemo's Multi Hitting Tee gives you the additional benefit of getting your bat into the bat lag position allowing you to get on plane with the ball sooner and extending your hitting zone which will enable you to minimizing your margin of error.

This drill will give you instantaneous muscle memory feedback when the batter develops hitting faults such as bat barrel drag as well as a too steep of a downward swing plane. It will also aid you in keeping your hands in the power position longer.

5. Extension Zone Hitting

Place the first ball on the back brush tee closest to the catcher and a second ball on the front tee closest to the pitcher. Start your bat swing and get into your bat lag position to get on plane to have bat contact thru the first ball continuing to drive your hands forward in the (palm up palm down position) to have impact with the second ball. This will allow you to stay in the hitting zone longer. After contact thru the second ball you will be in the extension position looking down the V of your arms to the bat and at this point you would have your wrist roll over ending with a high swing with your hands high over your head. You can either keep your hands on the bat or break them apart going into your follow thru position

B. HITTING THE LOW ZONE PITCHES

Megan Alllen, West Salem High School, Salem, Oregon demonstrates the correct hitting

mechanics to hit the low zones pitches at the knee level as shown in the three sequences below.

Notice: The correct bat angle with the lead elbow above the hands and the hands slightly

above the bat. The Nemo Triple Hitting Tee can be easily adjusted to hit the middle zone pitches at the waist level.

C. Nemo's Rope Drill

A fantastic drill to keep the head and eyes in a downward plane and to promote hitting line drives to increse one's chances of getting a base hit.

Coach Nemo demonstrates his Rope Drill to help keep the hitter from lifting his eyes up and away from the hitting zone.

In the above photo, Coach Nemo pretends he has just hit the ball at the contact spot and he continues to drive his bat along the path of the rope thru extension. Notice at this point his head and chin are in a downward position and his eyes follow the path of the rope. The batter does not lift his head or eyes until they past the extension part of the hitting process.
